Bizimply alternative: a fair comparison for UK pubs, restaurants and cafés
Bizimply is a UK and Irish workforce platform for shift-based businesses, covering rotas, time and attendance, HR, payroll options, tronc and digital checklists, with pricing on request (as of October 2026). ShiftComplete is a simpler alternative for single venues and small groups that want rotas plus food-safety records in one app, at a published £1.49 per staff member a month and 60 days free.
On this page
Bizimply is a serious workforce platform with a strong following among UK and Irish hospitality groups. It does a lot: rotas, clocking in, HR, payroll options, tronc, messaging and checklists. For a multi-site group with an operations team, that breadth is the point.
For a single pub, an independent restaurant or a café with fifteen staff, it can be more than you need, and you can't see the price until you've had a sales call. This page compares the two fairly. Bizimply details are as of October 2026, checked on Bizimply's own website and linked in the sources.
What Bizimply does well
Bizimply says it is "built specifically for shift-based hospitality operations", and its hospitality page names restaurants, pubs and bars, hotels, multi-site groups, quick-service chains and event venues. As of October 2026, its website lists:
- Rota scheduling with forecasting, drag-and-drop copying and live labour cost ("Build Costed Rotas Fast").
- Time and attendance through a wall-mounted tablet or the staff app, verified by PIN, GPS or photo.
- Payroll: bring your own provider or use Bizimply's managed payroll service.
- Core HR: staff records, contracts, training and documents, with e-signature on the higher plan.
- Tronc and time-off management in its Complete WFM plan.
- Operational checklists: its hospitality page says you can digitise opening and closing duties, HACCP compliance, temperature logs and shift handovers. Its help centre describes daily task lists that staff tick off in the MyZimply app, with a photo.
- Messaging and a news feed (Bizimply Connect).
- Integrations with POS, payroll, applicant tracking and training tools.
- Labour analytics comparing wage spend with revenue, and multi-site management.
If you run several sites, want clocking in and payroll joined up with the rota, and have someone to own the system, Bizimply is built for exactly that.
Where ShiftComplete is different
ShiftComplete is narrower on purpose. It's the everyday operations and rota app for UK pubs, restaurants, cafés, bars and hotels: the rota, plus the food-safety and venue records you keep every day. Basic clocking in with an hours export, but no payroll, no HR file and no GPS or photo checks. In exchange you get a published price, a long free trial and something a GM can set up in about five minutes.
Rotas that build themselves
Staff mark themselves available, partial or off on their phones, weeks ahead. You add events (a christening on Sunday, a match on Friday that needs two extra on the bar), weight the people you want on, and ShiftComplete builds a draft rota in seconds, fair across the team. You drag to adjust, then publish to everyone's phone or by email.
Split shifts get up to four time blocks per person per day, each tagged with a custom area like Bar, Kitchen or Floor. Day notes sit on the rota. Holidays are recorded so you don't rota someone who's off, and labour cost updates as you build.
Food-safety records with real detail
Both tools offer checklists. ShiftComplete goes further on the specific records an EHO asks to see:
- Temperature logs for every fridge, freezer, hot-hold and ambient point, each with its own min and max. Out-of-range readings are flagged on the dashboard, with optional photos and a 7-day view.
- Allergens: each menu item mapped to the 14 UK allergens, grouped by course and searchable by front-of-house staff on the floor. We didn't find an allergen matrix on the Bizimply pages we checked.
- Checklists for opening, closing, cleaning and due diligence that differ by weekday, plus one-off priority tasks, every tick named and timestamped.
- Incidents and maintenance with photo, severity and status, and risk assessments you can print.
- Reports: a weekly rollup and a full audit log with CSV export.

The pricing question
Bizimply's pricing page is open about how it works: cost depends on your employees, locations and products, and you get a quote after a short conversation. Annual billing comes with a discount, and payment is by Direct Debit. That's normal for a platform of its size, but it means you can't compare on price without a call.
ShiftComplete is £1.49 per staff member per month. Every feature is included, there's no per-site fee and no contract. A café with 12 staff pays £17.88 a month; a pub with 25 pays £37.25. If you have 100 or more staff, talk to us.
Questions worth asking in any demo
Whether you book a Bizimply demo or try ShiftComplete, these questions get to the answer quickly:
- What will I pay at my size? Ask for the monthly figure for your number of staff and sites, including any set-up or onboarding cost and the minimum term.
- Who does the set-up? A platform with payroll and HR may need a few sessions to get right. Ask how long until your first live rota.
- How do split shifts look? Show them a real week with a lunch-and-dinner chef and a bar team on different areas.
- Where do the food-safety records live? If temperatures and allergens sit in a checklist, ask how breaches are flagged and how you'd show an EHO the last seven days.
- Can I leave easily? Ask about contract length, notice and getting your data out.
Who should choose Bizimply
Bizimply is likely the better fit if:
- You run several sites and want rotas, clocking in with PIN, GPS or photo checks, HR and payroll in one system.
- You need tronc management built in.
- You want POS-linked forecasting and labour analytics against sales.
- You have an operations or HR person to own the set-up, with Bizimply's onboarding support.
Who ShiftComplete suits better
ShiftComplete is likely the better fit if:
- You're a single venue or small group and the GM or owner does the rota.
- You already have payroll sorted (an accountant or bureau) and don't want to change it.
- You want temperatures, allergens, checklists and incidents properly covered next to the rota.
- You want to see the price up front and try it for two months before paying anything.
"The rota stopped being a Sunday-night argument the week we switched over. The chef stopped being the only person who knows what's in the kitchen. And the EHO turn up to a screen, not a box file." Graeme Kirkham, Owner, The Lounge Oswestry & Knock & Snitch

Frequently asked questions
How much does Bizimply cost?
Bizimply doesn't publish prices. As of October 2026 its pricing page says cost depends on the number of employees, locations and products you choose, and a specialist gives you a quote after a short call. It offers a free 15-minute demo. ShiftComplete publishes one price: £1.49 per staff member per month with every feature.
Does Bizimply have a free trial?
We couldn't find a free trial on Bizimply's pricing page as of October 2026; it offers a 15-minute demo instead. ShiftComplete has a 60-day free trial with no card needed, so you can run real rotas and real temperature checks before deciding.
Does Bizimply do food safety?
Bizimply's hospitality page says you can digitise opening and closing duties, HACCP compliance and temperature logs through its operational checklists, and its help centre describes daily task lists completed in its staff app with photos. We didn't find an allergen matrix on the pages we checked. ShiftComplete includes temperature logs with ranges, the 14 allergens per menu item, checklists and incidents.
Does ShiftComplete do clocking in and payroll?
It does clocking in, not payroll. Switch on clocking in and staff clock in and out on their phone or the shared tablet; managers see hours worked against the rota and download a spreadsheet with a total per person to hand to payroll. There's no payroll, payroll integration, GPS or photo verification. If you need those in one platform, Bizimply is designed for that.
